THE SOUNDS OF MIGRATION, A NEW NOCTURNAL DBF’S ACTIVITY!

Categories: news_home,news2019

This year, there’s a new nocturnal activity for you! On saturday 21th, we’ll be recording bird calls of nocturnal bird migration from 22:00 to 23:30h. Probably, some of the recorded sounds will be unknown even to the expert birder.

In this activity, we’ll be accompanied by Magnus Robb and José Luís Copete, two specialized ornithologists that opened a new boundary for call identification on nocturnal migrations that never have been heard before.

For a long time, research on nocturnal bird calls ID during migration has been unexplored. Nowadays, several unknown behaviours have been discovered thanks to the sound recording specialist Magnus Robb, who has been recording the bird calls of nocturnal bird migration in Iberia and other places in Europe for the last decade.

During the activity, we’ll use Robb’s recording methodology and learn about this novel knowledge. If you are interested, tickets are now available.
