THE CONSERVATION OF HIGHLAND PARROTS IN COLOMBIA BY MEANS OF BIRD TOURISM

The highland parrots of the Colombian Andes are in severe danger of extinction and the lack of data about their biology is the main reason why it is very difficult to plan conservation policies.

In this talk, Eduardo Soler and Clara Diaz, of the University of Caldas (Colombia), will stress how by means of bird tourism, we can gather information about the biology of these parrots and the plants they interact with, in order to take action towards their conservation.
