The Moianes county is going to initiate several conservation, research and environmental education projects. Between these projects, stand out the ones with the aim of study and protect birds, from large birds of preay to small passerines. The projects, with very ambitious goals, are open to everybody and intend to create new ways of working in species conservation.
One of the species to consider inside the project is the Bonelli’s eagle. This is a decreasing species in Catalonia with only 150 or 160 breeding pairs, which represent between 15% and 20% of all the European population. This project can help to prevent the extinction as a breeding species in the area, as it happened in Mallorca in 1960s.
