????????In the Delta del Ebro Natural Park you can find the Canal Vell Wildlife Recovery Centre which objective is to recover wild animals that have been injured by natural causes or human activities.

In 2014 a total of 450 animals, of which roughly half of them were birds, where taken care of in the centre. Many of this animals reach the centre in an irrecoverable condition but a team of vets tries to cure those that can be returned back to their natural habitat, whilst those that can live in captivity but could not possibly live in the wild are kept in the centre for educational purposes.

In the Delta Birding Festival, on Sunday 20, several birds from the Recovery Centre will be released. At this time, there are 2 Grey Herons who are already able to fish on their own and live in freedom. They will be released jointly with other birds that are in the “waiting room” finishing their recovery and will probably be ready to live free.

If you want to watch closely these wonderful birds and enjoy with them their new life, free again, you can’t miss it out: Sunday at 14:30 in front of the viewpoint building.
