SUEZ Spain, a partner company of the Delta Birding Festival, will present the winning and finalist photographs of the I BiOclick Photography Contest, in tent 3. The contest, aimed at company workers and under the theme “facilities and biodiversity”, shows how the Nature is present in the day-to-day management of the facilities. On Saturday 21 at 1pm, the opening ceremony of the exhibition in marquee 3 will take place. Picture accompaining this text is done by Roser Fontseca.
SUEZ Spain is a company committed to the conservation of biodiversity. This was recognized by the European Commission by giving SUEZ the European Business Awards for the Environments 2018, in the category “business and biodiversity”, for its project “From water treatment plants to biodiversity reserves”.
The company’s biodiversity conservation strategy, one of SUEZ’s key commitments, represents a progressive and innovative change in the management model of water treatment plants, based on the naturalization of facilities that are transformed and managed as green infrastructure. A good example is the purification wetlands of the Delta del Ebro, a space of great ornithological richness, the scene of many of the activities held at the Delta Birding Festival.
Within the biodiversity conservation strategy, SUEZ places great importance on the involvement of workers. Therefore, it has developed the BiObserva corporate volunteer program, through which workers report bird observations from their jobs. The observations can be consulted through the BiObserva project website.
